It's A Miracle Church
As you may already know, I'm a former Pentecostal/charismatic. Former, I think, is the wrong word. Why? Because Catholicism is the original Pentecostal Church. That's right. It started in Acts, and never stopped being One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. Just because someone calls themselves an "Apostle" doesn't mean they actually received an apostolic ministry. (On the topic, I also recommend this post by my friend Pat) You can act and talk like a dog and your father won't be a dog. Apostolic ministry isn't about acting. It's about being, receiving as a gift, what is given by the "laying on of hands" (1 Tim: 4:14).
The Catholic Church is also a charismatic Church. All that means is that she was given gifts (charisms) and that miracles follow her history. You can look at a list of some of the miracles here, here, and here. Sure there are false signs and wonders, but 2,000 years of the consistent miraculous is way more than coincidence. Blessed Newman could not help but succumb to its weight. False signs are those that accompany those who come and go. The Resurrection taught us that the true prophet is the one of whom death can't hold. In this way, the Church is like Her founder and is evidence of the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit in the Church: preserving, pruning, purifying until the return of her King. Hear this. She will be here when her King returns and then everyone will do what her people do every Mass:
"that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth"- Philippians 2:10
