Man Made Traditions

"Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. And many other such like things you do." - Mark 7:13

FOR EXAMPLE:

1. Baptism that does nothing on the inside. - 1 Peter 3:21

2. A Eucharist that is a mere symbol. - Luke 22:19

3. Marriage that confers no grace. - Verses

4. Pastors without Holy Orders. - 1 Corinthians 11:24

5. Singles struggling without the religious life. - Matthew 19:12

6. Ministers who will not hear confessions. - John 20:22

7. Prayer without the belief in healing. - James 5:15

8. Demoniacs without a rite to deliver them. - Mark 16:17

Just to name a few...

Traditions of Men: NOT HONORING MARY

He answered them, "And why do you transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God commanded, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.' But you say, 'If any one tells his father or his mother, What you would have gained from me is given to God, he need not honor his father.' So, for the sake of your tradition, you have made void the word of God. 

-Matthew 15:3-6

God commands that we honor our mother. -Exodus 20:12

Jesus gave us His Mother as our Mother at the Cross.  -John 19:27

This is also understood implicitly since Christ is our brother. -Hebrews 2:17

Therefore, we must honor our Mother. 

The Blessed Virgin prophesied that all generations would called her "Blessed". -Luke 1:48

Yet...

Some say that to honor the Blessed Virgin takes away from God. They say (something like), "What Mary would have gained from you or I is (ought to be) given to God, therefore, you need not honor your Mother." 

So, for the sake of their tradition, they make void the word of God.

Just say "No!" to traditions of men.
Honor Your Mother.
